About The Position

HP is seeking a LaserJet Field Support Technician to support customers throughout Eastern Michigan, particularly the Flint and Saginaw region. The role requires existing field technical support knowledge and skills related to HP LaserJet and DesignJet printers, and experience supporting customers with HP printers and DesignJets. Experience repairing laptop and desktop PCs is a plus. The work ranges from routine to complex assignments requiring technical problem resolution and independent judgment. The technician allocates their own time efficiently and receives general instructions. The position requires 50% travel. The pay range for US candidates is $24 to $32 per hour. Pay varies by work location and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Requirements

Minimum vocational/diploma or associate degree in a technical field, or equivalent, with 3–5 years of relevant work experience; alternatively, a degree with no more than 2 years of relevant experience.
Knowledge and experience supporting HP LaserJet, DesignJet, and PC products.
Thorough knowledge of the organization and its policies.
Comprehensive business, technical, or functional knowledge.
Basic project-management skills.
Communication and analytical problem-solving skills.
Ability to build and maintain ongoing relationships with customers, peers, and support partners.
Ability to perform under high-pressure situations.
Ability to travel 50%.

Responsibilities

Maintain high customer satisfaction by clarifying customer needs and ensuring they are met.
Handle customer-relations problems promptly and appropriately, escalating issues according to established procedures.
Provide software service, post-sales support, or service-delivery support for local accounts on standard systems.
Respond to service, product, technical, and customer-relations questions.
