This is a mid-level electrical technician role familiar with analog and digital communications circuits with experience in modifications, troubleshooting, and use of electrical test equipment. The role involves working with cabling build/modification, computer systems, and running checkout tests. Assembly and modification of equipment cabinets, racks, and communications cabling are key responsibilities, as is troubleshooting electrical systems and maintaining an inventory of lab equipment. Occasional overtime, including extended shifts and weekends, may be required.

Requirements

  • High School/GED
  • Minimum of 4 years of related work experience
  • Experience with cabling manufacturing and repair (crimping contacts, soldering, stripping / preparing wires, terminating shields, etc.).
  • Build and / or modify hardware using machine shop equipment (e.g. drill press, grinding wheel, band saw).
  • Experience understanding and building to fabrication drawings and schematics.
  • Self-motivated, team player willing to adapt within a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to receive direction from technical staff.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Must be a U.S. Person as defined in ITAR 22 CFR 120.62.

Nice To Haves

  • Assembly and modification of equipment cabinets, racks, and communications cabling desired.

Responsibilities
