Technical Staff - Systems Analysis - Space Systems

MIT Lincoln Laboratory•Lexington, MA
•$145,200 - $220,000

About The Position

The Advanced Electro-Optical Systems Group (99) develops space systems for the U.S. Space Force and other government organizations. We design, build, test, launch, and operate real systems. This role involves using modeling, simulation, trades, and test data to understand mission performance and drive engineering decisions across various system components including orbit, sensors, spacecraft, pointing and tracking, communications, onboard processing, ground systems, and operations. The position requires individuals to be hands-on, following their analysis work into the lab, collaborating with hardware and software engineers, developing and running tests, investigating unexpected results, and updating models based on real-world system behavior. The goal is to solve problems by getting into the details rather than providing analysis from the sidelines.

Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in a technical discipline such as aerospace, electrical or mechanical engineering, physics, applied mathematics, computer science, operations research, or related fields
  • 5+ Years of demonstrated experience
  • In lieu of the above, a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and 10+ years of demonstrated experience will be considered
  • U.S. citizenship is required
