About The Position

The Technical Staff, Network Architect works on the Engineering Technologist team, which shapes products, materials, and processes through applied research and advanced engineering. The role contributes to next-generation, large-scale AI infrastructure, including accelerated compute, AI fabrics, and AI-optimized storage. It also engages with high-profile AI customers to optimize solutions for their applications and tune systems for performance, while advancing datacenter-level liquid cooling and power density technologies. The architect designs and optimizes network and fabric architectures based on customer and infrastructure requirements, including scalable InfiniBand, Ethernet, Accelerated Fabric Link (AFL), and other fabric topologies. The role leads end-to-end AI network architecture across GPU-to-GPU and server-to-storage connections, in-rack cabling, and datacenter-level optical design. The position also collaborates with external partners and develops networking software, solutions, and architecture that integrate with AI frameworks and applications.

Requirements

  • Expert understanding of networking technologies, including switches, network-interface cards (NICs), Data Processing Units (DPUs), and AI fabrics.
  • Experience integrating AI frameworks, such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Kubernetes for machine-learning workloads.
  • Experience with datacenter network design and optical distribution.
  • Knowledge of networking protocol industry standards.
  • Customer and partner project/program leadership experience.
  • Ability to understand and assess customer requirements and develop technical solutions based on customers’ geographical areas.
  • Ability to negotiate conflicting interests and prioritize deliverables to achieve outcomes for stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel 20%–30%.
