About The Position

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a Technical Staff Engineer-Design to join their team. This role is responsible for the design, development, and integration of analog circuit blocks for Flash-IP and/or memBrain IP, utilizing an analog compute-in-memory (CIM) approach based on SuperFlash technology. The goal is to handle vector matrix multiplication for neural networks, enabling ultra-low-power AI inference at the edge and in data centers. The position requires simulating and validating analog circuit blocks and Flash-IP macros to ensure technical deliverables meet performance, quality, and reliability standards. Collaboration with design, technology, process, and testing departments is essential for effective project delivery. Additionally, the role involves interfacing with marketing teams and customers to support the development of embedded flash memory macros and address specific requirements.

Requirements

  • BSEE with 10 years+ of experience in analog design.
  • Experience in leading analog design aspects of product development, driving architecture definition, circuit implementation, and validation.
  • Experience in non-volatile memory design (HV circuits, charge pump generation and regulation, references, sensing, read circuits, etc).
  • Experience in silicon validation, debug, and testing.
  • Experience in CAD tools (HSPICE/FINESIM, Verilog, Cadence Design Entry, LPE, EMIR, etc) for design flow.
  • Creative thinker capable of finding solutions to solve complex problems.
  • Team player able to work in a cross-functional team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in data conversion circuits (DAC, ADC) preferred.
  • Experience in communication circuits preferred (PLL, DLL, LVDS, HS interfaces, etc.).
  • Experience in regulation circuits (LDO, digital LDO) and references (bandgap, bias, etc.) preferred.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Tcl, etc.) and AI Tool adoption a plus.
  • Knowledge in Semiconductor device physics preferred.
  • Neural network (e.g., MLP, CNN, Transformer, LMM) knowledge with PTQ and/or HAT for HW implementation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design, development, and integration of analog circuit blocks for Flash-IP and/or memBrain IP.
  • Simulating and validating analog circuit blocks and Flash-IP macros to ensure technical deliverables meet performance, quality, and reliability.
  • Close coordination with engineers from design, technology, process, and testing departments.
  • Interfacing with marketing teams and customers to support the development of embedded flash memory macros and address specific requirements.

Benefits

  • Competitive base pay
  • Restricted stock units
  • Quarterly bonus payments
  • Health benefits that begin day one
  • Retirement savings plans
