About The Position

The Technical Specialist – Turf & Specialty Products is responsible for supporting Sales and Operations teams by providing technical expertise, product knowledge, and operational support within the turf line of business. This role partners closely with Business Development Managers, Key Account Managers, and Store Personnel to deliver effective solutions to customer needs, enhance product knowledge, and drive overall business success.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to think quickly, make sound decisions, and solve problems effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Willingness to learn, adopt, and promote new technologies and ways of working
  • Forklift certification required (or ability to obtain upon hire)
  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to deliver practical, solution-oriented support
  • Strong communication and training skills
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accountability
  • Team player with the ability to collaborate across multiple functions

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of turf products and a strong understanding of turf installation practices preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to Business Development Managers, Key Account Managers, and Store teams to identify and implement solutions for customer needs and technical challenges
  • Communicate product value propositions and effectively differentiate SiteOne’s products and services to customers and internal stakeholders
  • Coordinate and facilitate customer and employee training sessions, including product demonstrations, in partnership with vendor representatives
  • Support continuous learning initiatives by promoting adoption of new technologies, tools, and best practices
  • Manage turf and accessory inventory, ensuring accuracy and availability of products
  • Coordinate ordering and replenishment of turf products to meet customer demand
  • Cut turf to order based on transfer requests while adhering to established deadlines and quality standards
  • Partner with the Dispatch team to coordinate timely transfers and deliveries
  • Oversee maintenance and proper operation of turf cutting equipment
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and operational procedures, including forklift operation (certification required or obtained upon hire)
