About The Position

BHE GT&S has an exciting opportunity as a Technical Specialist/Senior Technical Specialist at our White Oaks General Office location in Bridgeport, WV. This role involves leading and supporting the development and execution of capital projects for interstate natural gas transmission facilities. These facilities include pipeline, compressor station, and measurement and regulation projects, as well as liquified natural gas (LNG), from concept through commissioning and closeout. The position requires developing project scopes, schedules, cost estimates, funding requests, and execution plans to support successful project delivery. The Technical Specialist will provide project management and engineering support throughout all project phases: development, design, procurement, construction, startup, and closeout. Coordination with internal stakeholders, engineering consultants, contractors, and vendors is crucial to achieve project objectives and ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective project execution. Responsibilities also include preparing requisitions for services, equipment, materials, and construction, and supporting bid evaluations and contract administration. The role involves performing and/or reviewing engineering analyses, calculations, designs, technical specifications, and cost studies. Monitoring project scope, budget, schedule, risks, and performance, and developing recommendations for management decision-making are key. Ensuring compliance with regulations, codes, standards, safety requirements, and documentation requirements, including maintaining accurate project records and as-built information, is also essential.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience and demonstrated competencies in applicable discipline.
• In-depth knowledge of engineering principles, theories, and practices.
• Ability to apply knowledge, techniques, skills, and modern tools of mathematics, science, engineering, and technology to solve broadly-defined engineering problems appropriate to the discipline.
• Ability to design systems, components, or processes meeting specified needs for broadly-defined engineering problems appropriate to the discipline.
• Strong oral, written, and graphical communication skills, including technical writing.
• Ability to identify and use appropriate technical literature.
• Ability to conduct standard tests, measurements, and experiments.
• Ability to analyze and interpret the results to improve processes.
• Ability to function effectively independently and as a member on a technical team.
• Excellent organization and project management skills.
• Excellent personal computer skills, including knowledge of applicable software programs.

Nice To Haves

• Typically four years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.
