About The Position

This entry-level position is responsible for coordinating and supporting technical activities within Distribution Planning. The role requires technical aptitude, problem-solving ability, and excellent teamwork skills to be successful. The position provides technical assistance in support of others and applies technical knowledge to help promote a safe work environment and enhance customer satisfaction. The role involves performing assignments in specialized areas requiring technical expertise, reviewing functional specifications for completeness and practical limitations, and coordinating activities as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. It may also involve supporting the review of technical documentation, basic work planning, coordination, budgeting, and cost estimating. Additionally, the role may support the development and updates of single line diagrams and equipment specifications, support material procurement, and collaborate with QA/QC processes. Basic technical support to field and construction groups is provided, along with process and standard utilization and improvement. Reporting, including presentations to work groups and management, is also a key function. This position may be required to work extended hours, including major storm restoration work and associated drills.

Requirements

  • BS in a technical field or BS Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited college.
  • Zero to two years of professional engineering experience.
  • Business knowledge in the utility & regulated environment.
  • Interpersonal and relationship development skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively interact with internal and external customers.
  • Team player and ability to prioritize assignments to meet commitments.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to resolve technical issues.
  • Vision acuity to operate vehicle.
  • Hearing - Receive detailed information if spoken to.

Nice To Haves

  • 3.2 GPA or higher preferred.
  • Master’s degree in a technical discipline.
  • Working knowledge and experience with regulations, guides, standards, codes, methods, and practices necessary to perform routine assignments.
  • Experience in utility industry trade organizations.
  • Experience with MS Office, 365, Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
