About The Position

We are seeking a Technical Sourcing Manager to lead strategic procurement in a New Product Introduction (NPI) environment. This role requires close collaboration with business units, engineering, production, finance, and legal teams, as well as third parties such as contract manufacturers and suppliers. The position demands strong quantitative and analytical skills, critical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. The Technical Sourcing Manager sits at the interface between our engineering teams and the industries that supply our core technologies. In this role, you will develop and execute sourcing strategies and recommend product and material innovations based on evolving technologies and market availability. The position requires an interest in market dynamics, negotiation and pricing, manufacturing processes, and risk mitigation, including short-term spot buys. This role is part of the supply chain management team that drives centralized capacity planning for components used across our products and supports long-term strategic deals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering; other engineering degrees considered with demonstrated deep understanding of electronic components.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in technical sourcing, procurement, or supply chain in an electronics or hardware manufacturing environment, preferably with NPI exposure.
  • Strong understanding of electronic components, BOM structures, PCBA/PCB manufacturing, component lifecycle, alternates, cost drivers, quality risks, and supplier technologies.
  • Demonstrated tenacity, passion, and skill in negotiations and supplier management.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; able to make sound decisions with incomplete information.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and influence cross-functional relationships.
  • Experience solving complex supply chain issues and driving actions to closure.
  • Direct purchasing experience for electronic components, PCB, and PCBA, and proficiency with planning and inventory parameters (e.g., MOQ, safety stock, CTB).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in one or more of the following is a plus: consumer electronics, home appliances, IoT devices, power supplies, motors, PCBAs, EMS/ODM manufacturing, or electromechanical products.

Responsibilities

  • Support NPI builds and production ramps by ensuring timely, reliable, and cost-effective material availability.
  • Reduce supply and lifecycle risk by identifying alternates, monitoring market changes, and addressing constraints early.
  • Improve total cost through BOM analysis, cost-driver visibility, and disciplined commercial negotiations.
  • Support business units and engineering teams in defining requirements and providing supply and technology solutions that meet product development and production ramp needs.
  • Analyze BOMs, identify cost drivers, benchmark component pricing, and implement procurement strategies to enable timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services.
  • Collaborate across the organization to ensure business objectives are met, including synthesizing and communicating findings to senior leaders and surfacing potential supply issues that may impact product strategy.
  • Optimize supply chain performance through effective sourcing strategies and continuous improvement of cost, service, and performance KPIs.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of value-added manufacturing processes, costs, and market intelligence, and apply this knowledge to influence future product roadmaps and sourcing decisions.
  • Provide program management support and contribute to the development of processes, templates, escalation procedures, and reporting.
  • Partner with internal manufacturing organizations to ensure alignment on supply, build plans, and readiness.
  • Lead and support improvement initiatives across sourcing and supply chain operations.
