About The Position

Senior NLP/AI technical SETA SME supporting mission-scale language systems, data pipelines, model development/evaluation, AI governance, and program planning.

Requirements

  • ACTIVE and MAINTAINED TS/SCI Federal or DoD security clearance with a polygraph.
  • Bachelor’s degree in physics, mathematics, computer science, or relevant electrical/computer/systems/software engineering field.
  • EIGHT (8)+ years of work experience in the listed science/technical fields.
  • Systems engineering and integration experience in complex, data-intensive environments.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML including computer vision, NLP, predictive analytics, and LLMs.
  • Demonstrated NLP methods: text classification, named-entity recognition, topic modeling, information extraction, or transformer-based architectures.
  • Experience developing/evaluating NLP pipelines: preprocessing, tokenization, model training, fine-tuning, and optimization for mission environments.
  • Understanding of data architectures/pipelines for large-scale analytics/intelligence production.
  • Familiarity with AI governance, data quality, bias mitigation, and mission assurance in operational NLP/LLM deployments.
  • Experience creating program plans, work breakdown structures, and milestone schedules.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s or PhD in listed/relevant field with FOUR (4)+ years work experience.
  • IC experience including requirements, CONOPS, and transition.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary R&D or T&E teams.
  • Experience as PM or Deputy PM.
  • Hugging Face, PyTorch, TensorFlow, spaCy, or similar NLP frameworks.
  • Ability to proactively manage multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Excellent writing, slide development, and editing for technical/non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organization, problem-solving, time management, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical SETA/SME support aligned to the specialty area and evaluate technical approaches, risks, progress, and results.
  • Translate complex technical information into actionable recommendations and program artifacts for R&D stakeholders.
  • Support program planning, technical assessment, milestone tracking, and cross-disciplinary coordination where required by the role.
  • Prepare to communicate technical work clearly during Guidehouse/customer evaluation, including a short technical seminar.
