About The Position

The Technical Services Manager acts as the primary liaison for all technical matters between engineering and construction teams on EPC projects. This role is crucial for ensuring that design intent, specifications, and field execution are aligned, and for facilitating real-time communication among various engineering disciplines, construction management, field supervision, procurement, and vendors. Key responsibilities include leading the resolution of technical issues such as RFIs, field design changes, constructability challenges, and interdisciplinary clashes, while prioritizing solutions based on their impact on schedule, quality, and cost. The manager will also lead constructability reviews, identify opportunities for optimization in installation sequencing, labor reduction, and modularization, and drive value engineering. Furthermore, the role involves supporting change management, coordinating with vendors on equipment installation and commissioning requirements, and ensuring proper integration with digital tools and drawing control systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related)
  • 8+ years of experience in EPC projects (construction, engineering, or field engineering roles)
  • Strong understanding of Multidiscipline engineering design
  • Strong understanding of Construction execution and sequencing
  • Experience on large-scale industrial projects (data centers, power, oil & gas, or similar)
  • Strong technical problem-solving and decision-making ability
  • Ability to translate engineering concepts into field execution
  • High sense of urgency and accountability
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management
  • Strong understanding of construction-driven project delivery

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in data center or mission-critical facility construction
  • Background in both engineering and construction roles (highly preferred)
  • Familiarity with Modularization and prefabrication strategies
  • Familiarity with Commissioning processes (Level 1–5, IST)
  • PE license (optional but preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Act as the single point of contact for all technical issues between engineering and construction teams
  • Ensure alignment between design intent, specifications, and field execution
  • Facilitate real-time communication between: Engineering disciplines (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical), Construction management and field supervision, Procurement and vendors
  • Lead resolution of: RFIs (Requests for Information), Field design changes and deviations, Constructability challenges, Interdisciplinary clashes
  • Drive timely turnaround of engineering clarifications to avoid schedule impacts
  • Recognize and prioritize resolution of issues based on impact to schedule, quality and cost
  • Provide technical interpretation of drawings, specifications, and vendor documents
  • Lead constructability reviews during: Pre-construction / planning phase, Active construction phase
  • Identify opportunities to: Improve installation sequencing, Reduce field labor and rework, Enable modularization and prefabrication
  • Drive Value Engineering wherever possible and practical
  • Ensure designs are aligned with means and methods of construction
  • Support development and implementation of: Field change notices (FCNs), Engineering change requests (ECRs)
  • Evaluate technical and commercial impacts of design changes
  • Ensure proper documentation and traceability of all technical changes
  • Interface with vendors on: Equipment installation requirements, Technical submittals and shop drawings, Commissioning and startup requirements
  • Ensure vendor data is fully integrated into construction execution plans
  • Support commissioning team with: Design clarification, System turnover documentation validation
  • Ensure systems are constructed in accordance with design and performance requirements
  • Ensure field teams are working from latest IFC drawings and revisions
  • Coordinate with document control for proper version management
  • Support integration with: BIM / 3D models, Digital field tools (Procore, Autodesk Build)
