Seneca also provides vegetable products to other companies under various co-pack arrangements. Seneca Foods in Baraboo, WI is currently seeking a Technical Services Manager to join our team. This role provides technical leadership for Seneca’s can manufacturing operations, with responsibility for environmental compliance, food safety and quality systems, specifications management, and research & development initiatives. The position works closely with senior leadership, plant operations, and cannery teams to drive continuous improvement, ensure regulatory compliance, and support innovation across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Food Science, Packaging, Chemistry, or a related science field.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across all levels of the organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Supervison experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage environmental compliance for the Baraboo facility, including permits, reporting, tracking, training, and regulatory documentation.
  • Support quality and food safety programs in can manufacturing, ensuring compliance with GFSI standards, including HACCP, Food Safety, Food Defense, and BRC.
  • Maintain, analyze, and improve can, end, and seam specifications for all Seneca facilities using statistical principles.
  • Lead research and development initiatives, including test packs and trials for new coatings, compounds, metals, and alternative packaging materials.
  • Partner with senior management to support operational planning, continuous improvement, and problem-solving initiatives.
  • Supervise seamer and cooker specialists and provide oversight of company-wide seaming standards and documentation.
  • Serve as a technical link between can manufacturing and cannery operations.
