About The Position

The Technical Services Metallurgical Lab Technician role involves participating in safety and housekeeping efforts, ensuring a safe work environment, operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, accurately completing paperwork for test results, inputting data into the NSAR business system, and communicating closely with the Metallurgy Team. This position operates on rotation shifts during the day. Safety is paramount, and candidates must demonstrate the ability to uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in steel industry

Nice To Haves

• Understanding of the steelmaking process
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in quality control in an industrial setting
• Experience with chemical analysis and physical testing of steel products

Responsibilities

• Participating in safety and housekeeping efforts
• Ensure a safe work environment for themselves and their coworkers
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, such as Tensile Test Frames, Hardness Test Equipment, Profilometer, Mounting/Polishing Equipment, Micrometers, etc.
• Accurately and legibly, complete required paperwork of test results
• Accurately input data into NSAR business system
• Communication closely with Metallurgy Team
