About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting the Manager of Technical Services and FSQA staff with the collection and accuracy of documents and programs. The role will complete customer requests for standard letters and questionnaires on company policy and procedures. It will also assist with specification creation by ensuring approvals are complete, creating label approvals, and tracking plant submission. The Technical Services Coordinator will maintain documents, track compliance for plant programs and regulatory compliance, communicate key FSQA metrics within the organization, and assist with data collection as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Strong oral and written language skills; able to communicate effectively.
  • Good mathematical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Visio, Power BI, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in data and inventory management systems.
  • Able to work and make decisions on tasks independently.
  • Must be able to prioritize competing demands on time and resources.
  • Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

  • Must be able to effectively communicate in both individual and group settings.
  • Must be able to present information and respond to questions from individuals and/or groups.
  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure such as whole numbers, fractions, percentages, and fractions.
  • Compute rate, discounts, ratios, and percent.
  • Make, read, and interpret financials, graphs, rates, ratios, and percentages.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years related experience and/or training.
  • Experience in SafetyChain is preferred.
  • Knowledge of food science, meat and meat processing, quality assurance principles, USDA rules & regulations and statistics desired.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Institutional Meat Purchase Specifications programs and FSIS labeling is preferred.
  • Experience in meat or food industry.

Responsibilities

  • Complete all customer requests for each facility, including standard letters, audit requests, and questionnaires.
  • Assign tasks on SafetyChain related to item and packaging updates.
  • Create label submissions, track plant completion of verifications, and file all related documents in electronic systems.
  • Upload plant documents to SafetyChain and Smart Food Safe and communicate and manage completion of expired items.
  • Assist in specification building and training.
  • Track submissions and adherence on all first case runs.
  • Recap plant quality defects and send weekly reports.
  • Track and maintain supplier compliance and documentation.
  • Create and provide reports of key metrics to internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with data collection including product quality, research, and shelf life.
  • Data entry for various reporting platforms.
  • Create users, groups, forms, and manage updates in Safetychain and Smart Food Safe.
