Technical Services Coordinator
About The Position
The Technical Services Coordinator oversees inspections, testing, and minor repairs of fire protection systems to ensure compliance with applicable OSHA and State of Alabama laws and regulations, NFPA standards, and BASF and contractor policies and procedures. The position reports directly to the site Rural Metro Fire Chief. The role includes coordinating maintenance, inspection, and testing activities, including monthly, quarterly, and annual inspections and tests, weekly fire-pump runs, cycling PIVs, and flowing and flushing fire hydrants. The normal schedule is five eight-hour days on the day shift.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- At least 15 years of fire protection system installation and service experience, including at least 10 years of industrial experience.
- Strong working knowledge of applicable fire protection codes and standards.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate inspections and testing of standpipe systems, control valves (PIVs), fixed monitors, fire hydrants, and stationary fire pumps.
- Ensure inspections, tests, and repairs comply with applicable OSHA, NFPA, and client regulations, policies, and standards.
- Oversee minor repairs of fire protection systems.
- Coordinate maintenance, inspection, and testing activities, including periodic inspections, weekly fire-pump runs, cycling PIVs, and flowing and flushing fire hydrants.
