About The Position

To provide efficient and timely technical assistance to assigned customers in matter relating to their packaging equipment operations and to facilitate customer quality and packaging performance improvement. This role is a Level I position, requiring a mechanical and electrical technical aptitude with a basic understanding of packaging machines. Generally, management support is required to handle intermediate to difficult issues.

Requirements

  • Education: Technical Degree
  • Experience: 1-2 years experience in food packaging industry (material & machinery)
  • Willing to travel 60% or more and holds a valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a safety leader and puts safety first in all responsibilities.
  • Understands customer requirements relating to problems to products and equipment.
  • Services customer equipment, where applicable, to maintain optimum performance of equipment, packaging films and shrink bag materials.
  • Identifies machinery and packaging film/shrink bag problems and ensures that they are properly communicated to the appropriate staff representatives.
  • Maintains accurate and timely reports on work activities and time utilization.
  • Performs and completes package/shrink bag and machine audits on packaging machines.
  • Participates in field trials of new packaging materials.
  • Assists in the installation and start-up of all packaging equipment manufactured and sold by Amcor.
  • Provides input, as requested, into the design, installation and start-up of packaging equipment manufactured by outside suppliers or RE&D.
  • Responsible for scheduling own time and travel and determining priority of customer calls.
  • Works on special projects as assigned.
  • Establishes and maintains effective relations with customers, sales personnel and internal Amcor staff personnel.
  • Completes KMS reporting within 5 days, completes expense reports within a month of business trip and turns in weekly schedules within designated time frame.
