About The Position

A Technical Service Account Manager (TS Scientist) will provide technical support to new or existing customers with growth potential to grow sales of Tate & Lyle ingredients. This position requires a technical professional with 3+ years of experience in the food industry with a comprehensive knowledge of food systems, ingredient functionality, and processing across a broad range of food applications. Experience and knowledge of Soup, Sauce, Dressing and Meal products, formulating, and processing is required. The candidate must have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with several customers across a broad range of applications. The ability and willingness to be a self-starter and learn from others is expected. Contribution is measured through quality growth in the technical project pipeline and conversion of technical opportunities to sales. Willingness to travel up to 50%.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in the food industry.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food systems, ingredient functionality, and processing across a broad range of food applications.
  • Experience and knowledge of Soup, Sauce, Dressing and Meal products, formulating, and processing.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability and willingness to be a self-starter and learn from others.
  • MS or BS in Food Science or other related field.
  • Food formulation experience and understanding of food systems and ingredient functionality required.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% (car and/or air)

Responsibilities

  • Build strong working relationships with technical stakeholders at customer accounts.
  • Lead customer-facing technical discussions, providing scientific insights to shape opportunities.
  • Lead customer projects and provide technical expertise to address customer issues.
  • Understand customer needs, capabilities, and processes to develop fit‑for‑purpose solutions and influence project direction.
  • Partner with sales to identify, prioritize, and progress opportunities within the project pipeline.
  • Support customer adoption of Tate & Lyle ingredients through hands-on prototypes, application guidance, and troubleshooting.
  • Present new product ideas, ingredient technologies, and technical insights to customers to reinforce Tate & Lyle’s leadership.
  • Capture leads and update all project activity within Salesforce (CRM), moving opportunities through development stages.
  • Follow and share market intelligence and industry trends to contribute to solution development.
  • Build a strong and diverse internal network to be able to draw upon the right sources of expertise as required.
