About The Position

Garratt-Callahan is a profitable, private, and stable nationwide water treatment chemical company with over 120 years of history, known for promoting from within. They are expanding nationwide in 2026 and are seeking aggressive, smart, educated, and promotable Technical Sales Territory Managers. This new opening is for an upper New York territory, covering Syracuse, Rochester, Ithaca, and Binghamton, where the successful candidate will work from their home. The role involves selling boiler and cooling tower industrial water treatment chemicals to a diverse customer base including Data Centers, Healthcare, Food & Beverage, Manufacturing, Commercial & Institutional, and Wastewater. The position offers unlimited commission potential, training, and technical support, and comes with an established territory and a sizeable book of business.

Requirements

  • At least a four year technical degree (such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Biology or Mechanical Engineering)
  • A minimum of 3 years technical sales related to water treatment chemicals

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degrees preferred
  • Military equivalent, such as Navy Nuclear Propulsion, or Army CBRN School
  • Selling to a variety of industrial customers is preferred
  • CWT (Certified Water Technologist) is preferred
  • Knowledge of the New York industrial marketplace is preferred
  • Military and mechanical backgrounds are helpful

Responsibilities

  • Sell boiler and cooling tower industrial water treatment chemicals
  • Maintain the existing customer base
  • Make cold calls to develop new business
  • Run chemical tests to analyze water and document results
  • Interact and fix mechanical equipment such as pumps, tubing, piping and valves
  • Program electronic equipment such as cooling tower chemical controllers
