Technical Sales Rep. - General Industrial (South Carolina)

The Technical Sales Representative – General Industrial is responsible for representing the company in its effort in obtaining new business, maintaining current business, and providing technical support.
Requirements
- Education level preferred: bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university. Degree is preferred to be in a Science related field such as Chemistry or Business.
- Experience level preferred: At least three years of technical sales experience in a chemical coatings’ environment.
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook), Concur, ERP system, and other office machinery.
- Leadership capabilities with the ability to lead by example.

- Works well in a team environment.
- Excellent team building and communications skills.
- Superb written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to travel over 50% of the time.
Responsibilities
- Prospect, sell and service industrial paint coatings.
- Recognize sales opportunities when providing service work and conversely recognize opportunities for technical support when prospecting customers.
- Provide technical education and solutions in the field to customers regarding all aspects of company products.
- Provide account maintenance for current customers including contract negotiations.
- Forecast sales and price adjustments.
- Work with the development team to ensure technical skills are current with regards to existing products and future products in consideration.
- Report all initiatives to supervisor and provide status updates on a regular basis.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
