About The Position

RBR is seeking an experienced Technical Sales Manager to expand its presence in the scientific instrumentation market. This role involves driving sales by developing new opportunities, cultivating customer relationships, and representing RBR as a trusted partner. The ideal candidate will connect researchers and organizations with advanced technology for oceanographic and environmental research. This position is suited for an individual motivated by achieving results, building long-term partnerships, and creating tailored solutions to meet customer needs.

Requirements

  • A degree in sciences or engineering (BSc, MSc, or PhD) or equivalent experience in high-level technical sales
  • Ideally, 5+ years of technical sales experience, preferably in oceanographic, marine geophysics, or related scientific instrumentation fields
  • Proven ability to work directly with academic institutions, government agencies, and private organizations
  • Experience collaborating with end customers and through local agents to deliver exceptional sales results
  • A customer-focused mindset paired with a sense of urgency, passion, and purpose
  • A talent for finding better ways, for customers and for RBR, through innovative thinking and problem-solving
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills that inspire trust and foster lasting partnerships
  • Readiness to travel 25-50% within North America, primarily in Eastern Canada and the United States

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in ocean technology and measurement
  • Degree in Oceanography or a related field
  • Familiarity with CRM systems; Salesforce experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Present and promote RBR instruments to scientific and technical users
  • Develop and maintain a strong client portfolio (research institutes, universities, environmental engineering firms, etc.)
  • Expand, nurture, and retain customer relationships
  • Grow and manage the customer base, ensuring long-term partnerships
  • Identify, develop, and sustain business opportunities
  • Prepare commercial offers and respond to tenders
  • Identify new market opportunities and prospects within oceanography and environmental sciences
  • Represent the RBR brand and values at conferences, trade shows, and workshops, showcasing our innovative solutions and expertise.
