About The Position

Steel Partners Holdings L.P. is a diversified global holding company with interests in various industries. HandyTube Corporation, a subsidiary, is a seamless specialty tubing manufacturer based in Camden, Delaware, providing custom solutions for demanding environments. The sales intern will report to the VP of Sales and support the sales teams by updating sales records, conducting market research, and collaborating cross-functionally to help meet HandyTube's goals.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, engineering or similar
  • College junior or senior
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Uses strong, creative critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Analytical- capable of designing experiments, data collection, analysis and interpretation
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and willingness to learn
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects and tools, reach with hands and arms, and regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Knowledge and or ability to learn operating measurement equipment
  • Willingness to spend time on the manufacturing floor and have a hand on approach.
  • Positive attitude, good judgment and excellent time management skills
  • Less than 15% travel may be required
  • Must work a minimum of 20 hours a week for a 10 week internship program

Responsibilities

  • Promote Safety as the Number One Priority of all HandyTube employees
  • Drive a culture that educates and promotes quality processes and responsibilities for all
  • Performs market analysis to identify new customers, applications and market trends
  • Updates sales records, presentations, spreadsheets and charts
  • Assists with preparing presentations, power points and documents for customers
  • Participates in trainings, business meetings and networking opportunities
  • Makes suggestions and improvements into sales process
  • May be asked to perform other duties not listed on this job description
