About The Position

The Technical Sales Engineer (TSE) serves as the critical technical lead throughout the sales cycle. This role partners closely with prospective customers to understand their unique operational requirements and engineer tailored, scalable solution recommendations. Acting as the bridge between complex business needs and technical execution, the TSE translates requirements into robust system designs, proposals, and presentations that drive customer decision-making. Additionally, this role partners cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, Operations, and Product teams to ensure all proposed solutions are technically sound, commercially viable, and perfectly aligned with customer objectives.

Requirements

  • At least three years sales engineering or technical sales experience.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to demonstrate technical topics with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Deep familiarity with video surveillance, access control, gate operators, and physical security technologies.
  • Strong execution skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, tight deadlines, and competing demands simultaneously.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Visio (or similar tools).

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Account Executives and channel sales partners to develop technical solution designs, product recommendations, and accurate pricing proposals.
  • Lead technical consultations, product demonstrations, deep-dive presentations, and customer discovery discussions.
  • Analyze customer operational and technical environments to develop precise system designs, layouts, and supporting documentation.
  • Serve as the internal and external authority on company products, services, and technical capabilities.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Operations, Engineering, and Product teams to ensure proposed solutions are feasible, accurately scoped, and compliant with organizational standards.
  • Prepare and review technical specifications, Statements of Work (SOWs), RFPs, and related sales and implementation documentation.
  • Support customer evaluations, proof-of-concept (PoC) activities, site assessments, and initial implementation planning.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, competitive offerings, and product enhancements.
  • Contribute to internal technical knowledge bases, best practices, and training resources to elevate team performance.
