About The Position

The Technical Sales Associate is responsible for developing and maintaining customer relationships within the commercial market. This position drives sales growth by creating selling strategies to grow market share in each relevant product and service offering, develops and leverages relationships with clients, and provides excellent customer service and expert consultation during each transaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business and/or Marketing or related field (significant relevant sales experience will otherwise be considered).
  • Above average proficiency in MS Office Products.
  • Moderate skill level in Excel desired.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-directed and able to independently manage time and projects in a face paced environment; results driven.
  • Effective presentation skills, negotiation skills and ability to influence customer’s decisions.
  • Ability to gather, analyze and accurately interpret detailed information.
  • Demonstrated above average organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains long term customer relationships with key decision makers primarily over the phone.
  • Generates new revenue and increases sales of products and services within targeted medium sized projects and accounts to achieve sales goals through prospecting and closing business primarily over the phone.
  • Calls on the stagnate accounts to regain the business.
  • Develops and implements selling strategies to grow territory and meet or exceed sales goals.
  • Develops an understanding of the project requirements and aligns MSI products and services accordingly by selling the MSI value proposition of exceptional service, appropriate material selection and labor savings.
  • Researches the competition and the markets of MSI and our customers to stay abreast of competitors, developments in competitive products, and changes in the market. Shares information with MSI sales team as necessary.
  • Works closely with OSR to prepare for face to face meetings with clients offsite or onsite.
  • Proactively communicates with the customer to ensure all commitments and obligations for the customer are met and/or are exceeded throughout the project/order and provides ongoing support to ensure that needs are met.
  • Works closely with OSR for future development of MSI added services.
  • Creates project submittal documents and technical submission documents for MSI Engineering team.
  • Assists OSR with cold calling on sales leads to determine who is responsible for labelling on a project. Passes leads to OSR.
  • Other duties as assigned to support the growth of MSI.
