About The Position

This role is part of a succession planning initiative within the Pipe Division, with the opportunity to grow into a senior sales position over time (1-2 years). The Technical Sales Associate will be confident with a competitive drive and the ability to build long-term relationships that are beneficial to the business. A well-suited candidate can react and adjust quickly to changing conditions and come up with practical ideas for dealing with them. Effective communication and sales skills are essential for this role, in addition to having a solid understanding of our business, our products and the construction industry.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in engineering, engineering technology or a related field preferred.
  • Candidates with a business background and relevant construction or estimating experience will also be considered.
  • Working knowledge of construction drawings and CRM software is considered an asset.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to learn quickly in a hands-on environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly in preparing quotations.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal).
  • Practical problem-solving mindset with a customer focused approach.
  • Willingness to learn and grow into a client facing sales role.

Responsibilities

  • Perform project take-offs and pricing of pipe, manholes and related precast products.
  • Assist with quotation preparation and project follow-ups via internal CRM.
  • Act as liaison between internal and external stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition from sales to project execution.
  • Develop working knowledge of products, pricing, and market conditions.
  • Support existing customer relationships alongside senior team members.
  • Assist in preparation of yearly sales targets and departmental budgets.
  • Limited travel initially (primarily for training and select client interactions).
  • Independently manage customer accounts across NB, PEI and Maine.
  • Lead business development efforts with municipalities, contractors, developers and consulting engineers.
  • Representing the company at client meetings, industry events and project discussions.
  • Take the lead role in project development and sales strategy.
