About The Position

Harvey is looking for a Technical Revenue Accounting Lead to help us scale revenue recognition across a rapidly expanding portfolio of customer and partnership arrangements. Reporting to the Revenue Accounting Manager, this role will partner closely with Finance, Sales, Deal Desk, Legal, and Product and serve as the company’s subject-matter expert on ASC 606 and technical revenue accounting. In this highly collaborative, hands-on role, you'll review and help structure complex commercial contracts, author defensible accounting positions, and build the scalable processes, systems, and controls that will support Harvey through its next phases of growth. Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in revenue accounting; CPA required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Experience in public accounting and at a high-growth technology company, with an emphasis in technical accounting.
  • Deep knowledge of ASC 606 and demonstrated experience applying guidance to non-standard contracts, including ASC 340-40 (costs to obtain a contract)
  • Demonstrated ability to write clear technical accounting memos. Can research guidance, state a position, and defend the conclusion
  • Proven ability to partner cross-functionally with Sales, Legal, Deal Desk, and Product in a fast-moving environment
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and comfort operating amid ambiguity
  • Experience with Netsuite and Netsuite ARM (or similar)

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical accounting guidance on non-standard revenue transactions, including partnership agreements and complex subscription and usage-based deal structures
  • Evaluate the revenue accounting implications of new products, pricing models, and go-to-market motions, and advise cross-functional teams accordingly
  • Develop, document, and maintain revenue recognition policies, position papers, and accounting playbooks that scale with the business
  • Support month-end close processes and coordinate with external auditors
  • Help implement and optimize revenue systems and automation to improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability
  • Design and maintain internal controls over revenue in support of audit and future SOX readiness
  • Assist with ad hoc financial reporting requests
