About The Position

Rockstar Games is seeking a Technical Research Analyst to join their Systems Engineering Team. This role supports the intake, documentation, and coordination of software and SaaS product updates. The analyst will collaborate with various business stakeholders to gather requirements, manage requests, and ensure clear documentation of decisions and action items. This is a full-time, in-office position located at Rockstar's game development studio in Oakville, ON. The Systems Engineering Team is responsible for delivering and maintaining global IT systems infrastructure for development teams, focusing on preventative maintenance and automation.

Requirements

  • Strong research skills to understand both business needs and third-party product offerings.
  • Organizational skills to manage, prioritize and document concurrent requests from multiple teams.
  • Experience performing tool intake research and routing/escalating potential risks to IT & Security.
  • Comfort building status reports and summaries for a variety of stakeholders.
  • Foundational familiarity with current concepts around big data, analytics, and LLM terminology.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to inform both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Collaborative, service-minded approach; comfortable working across teams and asking clarifying questions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ticketing/work management tools (e.g., ServiceNow or similar).
  • Familiarity with IT concepts such as user access, identity management, and basic networking.
  • Exposure to a range of SaaS/software tools, interest in tooling used in media and/or gaming environments.

Responsibilities

  • Research requested third party software and other tools and provide concise summaries for a variety of stakeholders.
  • Coordinate intake for software and emerging technology tool requests by collecting required details, clarifying incomplete submissions, and preparing concise summaries.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., business stakeholders, IT, security, and governance) to understand business needs, track requests, route questions, capture feedback, and escalate risks or blockers.
  • Support recurring review meetings by reporting on research, capturing feedback, documenting decisions, and maintaining action items (owners and due dates).
  • Maintain vendor communications to ensure product features align with expectations and cost models, while staying informed on new feature releases.
  • Maintain an inventory of commonly used tools and identify potential overlaps to support standardization efforts.
  • Identify red flags, such as unmaintained codebases, low community health or risk scores, external transfer or processing of internal data, or overly broad permission scopes.
