About The Position

The Technical Rescue Coordinator provides guidance and subject matter expertise to applicable departments, assisting them in understanding fall protection industry standards and requirements. This role oversees the inventory, inspection, and maintenance of fall protection and technical rescue equipment according to OSHA and industry standards. The coordinator is responsible for developing and updating standard operating procedures for work at height, worker rescue, and technical rescue. They will also develop and facilitate training programs for work at height, worker rescue, and technical rescue, including gondola evacuations during both winter and summer seasons, as well as confined space policy and training. Additionally, the role involves attending industry training and conferences to stay current on best practices and supporting technical rescue operations during incidents when available.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or greater
  • Demonstrated competence in rope systems, evacuation techniques, and steep/high-angle rescue
  • Have completed or have the ability to complete Fall Protection Competent Person training
  • Understanding of industry standards and best practices for technical rescue and worker safety
  • Physical dexterity, strength and ability to ski at a proficient level in all conditions
  • Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position a minimum of 50 pounds on an occasional basis
  • Auditory and visual acuity to operate computers, phones, mobile devices and basic office equipment on an occasional basis
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time standing, walking, kneeling, skiing, pushing and pulling on an occasional basis
  • Ability to work outside in harsh environmental conditions for extended periods of time
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and subject matter expertise, as directed, to all applicable departments
  • Assist all applicable departments in understanding fall protection industry standards and requirements
  • Oversee inventory, inspection, and maintenance of fall protection and technical rescue equipment in accordance with OSHA and industry standards
  • Develop and update work at height, worker rescue, and technical rescue standard operating procedures
  • Develop and facilitate work at height and worker rescue training
  • Develop and facilitate technical rescue training for Gondola evacuations during both winter and summer seasons
  • Develop and facilitate confined space policy and training
  • Attend industry training and conferences to stay current on best practices
  • Support technical rescue operations during incidents, if available
