About The Position
Acuren is currently recruiting for Technical Report Writers to support a planned outage in the Fort McMurray area. This role will be focused on documenting outage activities, compiling technical data, and producing clear, accurate reports under tight timelines. This is a project-based role for an outage with a duration from September 7, 2026, to October 17, 2026. The schedule involves a 6/1 rotation with 12-hour shifts, and accommodations and travel are provided.
Requirements
- 2+ years of technical writing experience in oil & gas, heavy industrial, or turnaround environments
- NDT Trainees actively pursuing CGSB Certification with some field experience
- Experience supporting outages/turnarounds/shutdowns preferred
- Strong understanding of maintenance, construction, or inspection processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Responsibilities
- Develop and finalize daily, weekly, and post-outage technical reports
- Compile field data, inspection findings, and repair documentation
- Work closely with supervisors, planners, and QA/QC personnel to gather accurate information
- Ensure all reports meet client and regulatory documentation standards
