General Matter is hiring a tenacious Technical Recruiter excited to build high-caliber teams and serve as a strategic partner in shaping our talent strategy. This is an exciting opportunity to join a lean, high-impact recruiting team supporting interdisciplinary roles across the organization, including hardware engineering, construction, manufacturing, nuclear engineering, supply chain, and more. You will own the full recruitment lifecycle, from intake and sourcing to screening and closing exceptional talent. We are building a team that has not only launched products, but launched entire industries across nuclear, space, defense, and finance. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 1+ years of recruiting experience (academic, internships, and extracurriculars at university level qualify) or associate degree and 2+ years of experience; or 3+ years of professional experience as a recruiter in lieu of a degree.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and clearly articulate value to both candidates and hiring teams.
  • Proven ability to manage and execute multiple competing priorities with autonomy.
  • Holds a high bar for personal accountability and performance, consistently delivering quality results with speed, ownership, and attention to detail.
  • Strong judgement and discretion when handling sensitive information and advising on hiring decisions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience recruiting technical talent such as mechanical, electrical, chemical, and/or software engineers.
  • Full lifecycle recruiting experience, from sourcing to closing.
  • Proven success hiring for highly specialized or niche roles such as building architects, chemical engineers, nuclear licensing engineers, or other technical experts.
  • Ability to distinguish between the top 50% and the top 5% of talent within their respective fields.
  • Demonstrated expertise in non-standard recruiting methods: cold calling candidates and companies, organizing and executing ad hoc networking events, identifying industry experts, creating unique targeted sourcing campaigns, etc.
  • Deeply motivated by General Matter’s mission to restore U.S. fuel enrichment capabilities and strengthen national energy security.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full-cycle recruitment process for technical and operational roles, from intake to closing.
  • Act as a key business partner to leaders and hiring managers by providing market insights, rapidly calibrating on top talent, and refining interview processes to drive successful hiring outcomes.
  • Conduct thorough initial interviews that assess ability, excellence, and cultural alignment while delivering a positive candidate experience and strong interview-to-offer outcomes.
  • Design and execute sourcing strategies that extend beyond Boolean searches to include events, networking, and other creative approaches to reach outstanding talent.
  • Deliver exceptional candidate experiences across the interview process that reflects General Matter's mission, culture, and high-performance culture.
  • Track and analyze recruiting metrics to continuously refine processes and drive operational excellence.
  • Maintain applicant tracking system accuracy and cleanliness to improve reporting quality and recruiting efficiency.
  • Wear many hats across the recruiting function, from managing university recruitment initiatives and coordinating onsite interviews to process improvement projects as we scale.
