About The Position

Reporting to the Director, Quality Control, the incumbent acts as a content expert and technical trainer in metrology instruments and quality control processes and procedures to ensure compliance, consistency and accuracy of quality control inspection operations throughout the manufacturing process in all North American plants.

Requirements

  • Degree in Industrial Engineering, Quality Control, Metrology or related field
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in the field of purchasing at a manufacturer
  • Minimum of 7 years of associated experience in quality inspection processes and tools, ideally in a valve manufacturing environment or equivalent
  • Experience as a dimensional inspector or metrologist.
  • Working with the CMM or equivalent
  • Experience as a technical trainer
  • Quality control: inspection and metrology instruments (CMM, measuring arms, etc.).
  • Quality Control Processes and Practices
  • Bilingual: French and English (oral and written)
  • Training and coaching skills
  • Leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and time management skills
  • Superior problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Support, train, and inspect employees as they perform their duties on metrology instruments and techniques to ensure the compliance of manufactured valves
  • Maintain the metrology qualification of inspection employees in accordance with quality control processes and instructions through the VNA
  • Develop, in collaboration with the technical training department, quality control inspection training materials and quality work instructions related to metrology instruments and quality control procedures
  • Responsible for developing and delivering technical training programs, maintaining training records for compliance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
  • Act as a domain expert to ensure compliance, consistency, and accuracy of quality control inspection operations during the manufacturing process in VNA factories
  • Support Material Board Review in its review and resolution of dimensional deviation nonconformities, including the use of metrology tools to optimize layout processing time
  • Lead root cause analysis to find corrective solutions and preventive actions (CAPAs) related to nonconformances in quality control inspections
  • Conduct internal quality inspection audits at Velan North America plants
  • Participate in the Return Merchandise Investigation (RGA) process as required
  • Participate in stakeholder and departmental meetings to provide inspection quality control expertise as needed
  • Act as a change agent and quality ambassador for production employees
  • Perform any other related tasks as assigned
