About The Position

The Technical Project Manager is responsible for managing multiple engine and module repairs through the Aero Alliance JV Houston Service Center. Provides overall project management services in addition to interfacing with the channel partners or their customers for reporting technical observations and corresponding justifications. Assists with technical resolutions of non-serviceable or non-conforming repairs, provides prompt status updates to customer experience teams, and thereby facilitating the job’s overall technical requirements through the end-to-end repair process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical/Electrical/Aeronautical, two-year degree (Associates or Technical) with 5+ years of Gas Turbine experience, or a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 6 years of Gas Turbine experience (Field, Teardown, Assembly, Package, or Testing)
  • Customer-focused mindset with proven ability to respond quickly to customer needs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Work with Central Engineering team to define and follow standard scope of work.
  • Become subject matter expert on repair BOM’s.
  • Provide work scope for servicing Aeroderivative Gas Turbine engines in compliance with Aero Alliance Repair Policy & standards to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Work with customer experience team as the technical point of contact for assigned projects.
  • Serve as point of contact for engineering support needed to resolve any technical issues that arise on the shop during the engine and/or module overhaul and test cycle.
  • Ensure proper documentation of technical data and findings generated for assigned projects, consistent with shop policies and procedures, including engine report review.
  • Attend kickoff meetings with channel partners to understand work scope requirements and generate work scope and routers for the shop.
  • Provide technical & coordination support needed to resolve any technical issues that arise in the shop during the engine repair and test cycle and drive smooth repairs, testing, and reduced repair turnaround time.
  • Provide technical guidance to shop hourly personnel and participate in continuous improvement initiatives as needed.
  • Responsible for meeting all established safety, quality, delivery, and technical goals.
  • Support shop with NSR’s, NCRs, NSMR’s and Engine test failure investigations.
  • Work with Quality Team to lead and support shop RCAs.
  • Recommend and advise on options to meet or exceed technical requirements while striving to achieve operational schedules and commercial contract commitments on cost and delivery time.
  • Work with shop to support solutions to keep work on schedule and budget targets.
  • Utilize Lean methodologies to reduce cycle time and cost of quality and improve on time delivery.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers, customer experience team, depot staff, channel partners, support engineers, production team, test engineers, and other functions as primary point of contact for technical issues.
  • Work with customer experience team to get necessary approvals for work scope changes.
  • Support customer experience team to provide technical updates to customers and channel partners.
  • Work with customer experience team on work scope adjustments post-Gate 1 (Disassembly and Inspection).
  • Provide technical support to channel and/or customer meetings and visits at the site.
