About The Position

Applied Materials is a global leader in materials engineering solutions. This Technical Project Manager role is within the ALD Manufacturing Engineering team, primarily supporting ALD New Product Transitions. Responsibilities may also extend to supporting New Product Transitions, Continuous Improvement Projects (CIP), and Refurbished Systems. The role involves working collaboratively in a team environment, supporting other engineers and technicians, and managing manufacturing builds from lab stages through early learning shipments and pilot lines. The position also ensures product progression with documentation, supplier quality, and field quality, ultimately transitioning new products to volume production once performance goals are met.

  • Experience working with Design Engineering, NPMEs, Materials PMs, Manufacturing Engineering and Operations to develop high level POR (Plan for Record).
  • Experience developing ATO (Assemble to Order) manufacturing strategy.
  • Experience managing manufacturing builds starting with lab chambers and ELS (Early Learning Shipment) builds through ALD pilot line.
  • Experience managing programs and builds as ALD Austin Manufacturing ships DTOR (Development Tool of Record) shipments to customers.
  • Experience ensuring product progression with build and test documentation, supplier quality, and field quality.
  • Experience transitioning new product to volume once new product’s modules meet performance goals for capacity, cycle time, and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare project plans and coordinate the attainment of project deliverables from planning to implementation.
  • Maintain a matrix for process improvements.
  • Drive project deliverables and task details using reports, tracking charts, and checklists.
  • Align the activities of internal resources to achieve on-time and within-budget performance objectives for the project.
  • Monitor and report on the project's cost performance to the business unit.
  • Participate on intra-business unit design teams to complete projects.
  • Contribute to the team's technical development in pursuit of project goals.
  • Research causes of project obstacles and assist in implementing solutions for resolution.
  • Manage manufacturing builds from lab chambers and ELS builds through the ALD pilot line.
  • Manage programs and builds as ALD Austin Manufacturing ships DTOR shipments to customers.
  • Ensure product progression with build and test documentation, supplier quality, and field quality.
  • Finish the new product transition to volume once the new product’s modules meet performance goals for capacity, cycle time, and quality.
