About The Position

The Technical Project Manager (TPM) serves as the lead for technical planning, execution, coordination, and reporting across FAA infrastructure support services. This role provides technical project management support to the Program Office by leading feasibility studies, preparing program documentation, organizing executive and stakeholder briefings, supporting project issue resolution, and coordinating project activities across engineering, logistics, operational, and information security functions. The TPM operates in a mission environment that supports secure FAA operational data and mission-critical infrastructure services for federal stakeholders. The role requires disciplined management of cost, schedule, scope, staffing, performance, and risk while supporting compliance with FAA policies, approved formats, and project deliverable requirements. This position interfaces routinely with the COR, Program Manager, technical staff, and Government stakeholders to ensure work is documented, traceable, timely, and aligned to FAA operational goals. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in environments that include Linux, Windows, Cisco-based infrastructure, FAA data center environments, and cloud-connected operational ecosystems, because those are explicitly identified within the SOW program environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or Science
  • 10 years of relevant experience
  • Current Project Management Professional (PMP), Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP), Program Management Professional (PgMP), or equivalent project/program management certification
  • Relevant experience directly reflecting project management functions such as project planning, project schedule management, dependency analysis, resource allocation, baseline management, status monitoring, and related project management activities.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting technical, engineering, infrastructure, or operational projects requiring coordination among multiple stakeholders and workstreams.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance during the entire period of performance.
  • U.S. citizenship required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting FAA, NAS, DoD, DHS, or other federal operational environments with structured reporting, stakeholder briefings, and technical governance needs.
  • Experience supporting infrastructure and engineering work performed in Linux, Windows, Cisco, FAA data center, and cloud-connected environments.
  • Familiarity with NIST, CISA, IEEE, National Vulnerability Database (NVD), MITRE CVE List, and CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities (KEV) Catalog concepts within a federal compliance environment.
  • Experience coordinating deliverables such as PMRs, feasibility studies, technical documentation, issue tracking, meeting minutes, and leadership-ready briefing materials.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct feasibility studies, document findings, and prepare technical and administrative documentation supporting FAA initiatives, program decisions, and follow-on actions.
  • Prepare informational briefings for the COR, Program Manager, management, and stakeholders, including quarterly Program Management Reviews (PMRs) presenting project information, staffing summaries, financial summaries, accomplishments, action item status, and performance updates.
  • Monitor project resources, cost, schedule, scope, staffing, and performance to ensure activities remain aligned with task expectations and operational priorities.
  • Track, maintain, and help resolve project issues within the FAA-provided ticket tracking system to support timely accountability and resolution.
  • Participate in high-level meetings with FAA stakeholders and management and coordinate the materials, logistics, and administrative artifacts required to support those sessions.
  • Prepare and distribute presentation materials, meeting notifications, attendance lists, room reservations, and supporting coordination products for PMRs, technical interchanges, product demonstrations, and other Government-directed events.
  • Develop draft and final briefing materials in COR-approved formats and prepare meeting minutes for Government review, revision, approval, and distribution.
  • Support engineering, validation, and design activities that improve development accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate across systems engineering, database engineering, network engineering, logistics, and information security support activities so that program actions remain integrated and traceable across the SOW task structure.
  • Support product evaluation and recommendations for hardware, software, equipment spares, and replacements and coordinate deployment-related planning as required by the Program Office.
  • Support security documentation, vulnerability reporting, remediation tracking, and risk-related program actions associated with FAA Order 1370.121B and related security requirements.
  • Support development and maintenance of briefings, meeting minutes, feasibility studies, PMR documentation, project documentation, and other written deliverables identified in the SOW end-results section.
  • Ensure information is delivered in approved formats and supports Government review, decision-making, traceability, and schedule discipline.
  • Coordinate with technical staff to ensure status reporting captures engineering progress, logistics actions, emergent risks, and cross-functional dependencies affecting execution.
