About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager with strong Big Data expertise to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of data-driven initiatives. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams, managing complex data engineering and analytics projects while ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
  • 7 years of experience in IT with 3 years managing Big Data or data engineering projects.
  • Strong understanding of data architectures, ETL processes, and distributed systems.
  • Proven experience managing Agile/Scrum projects.
  • Hand-on experience or familiarity with Apache Spark, Hadoop, Kafka.
  • SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Cloud-based data services (Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, etc.).
  • Strong technical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
  • Leadership and team coordination abilities.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Risk management and prioritization.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • PMP, Scrum Master (CSM), or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with AI/ML data pipelines or advanced analytics projects.
  • Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD practices.
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR).

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of Big Data and analytics projects across multiple teams.
  • Define project scope, goals, timelines, and deliverables aligned with business objectives.
  • Manage project risks, dependencies, and resource allocation.
  • Track progress and provide regular project status updates to stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to Agile Scrum or hybrid project management methodologies.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, architects, and analysts to design scalable Big Data solutions.
  • Understand and guide implementation of data pipelines, ETL processes, and real-time data streaming.
  • Ensure best practices in data governance, security, and compliance.
  • Review technical designs and provide recommendations to improve performance, solutions, and scalability.
  • Act as a liaison between business, engineering, and senior leadership.
  • Gather and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Facilitate effective communication across distributed teams.
  • Manage projects involving technologies such as Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, Hive, Spark), Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), Data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery), and Streaming tools (Kafka, Flink).
  • Drive adoption of modern data architecture practices such as data lakes and lakehouse solutions.
  • Ensure high-quality deliverables through testing, validation, and performance tuning.
  • Monitor KPIs, SLAs, and project success metrics.
  • Promote continuous improvement and process optimization.
