About The Position

As a Technical Project Manager / Scrum Master, you will lead project planning, delivery management, risk mitigation, scheduling, and cross-functional coordination for a large-scale modernization initiative focused on microservices architecture and enterprise application transformation. This role initially emphasizes traditional project management responsibilities while progressively taking on Scrum Master duties as Agile teams mature and delivery processes evolve. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with significant experience managing technical projects, facilitating Agile practices, and coordinating efforts across development, quality assurance, cloud, security, and operations teams. This individual will drive project execution, enhance delivery processes, improve reporting practices, and ensure successful outcomes across multiple workstreams.

Requirements

8+ years of project management experience leading technology projects within Agile and Waterfall environments.
PMP (Project Management Professional) certification required.
Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification required.
Proven experience managing modernization, cloud migration, or enterprise transformation projects.
Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies and delivery frameworks.
Experience working closely with software development, QA, engineering, security, and infrastructure teams.
Strong knowledge of Scrum principles, Agile methodologies, and Agile delivery best practices.
Demonstrated ability to facilitate Scrum ceremonies and coach teams adopting Agile practices.
Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps Boards, work tracking, backlog management, and project visibility tools.
Experience using Microsoft Planner Premium or comparable project management platforms.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and other project management and reporting tools.
Strong risk management, issue resolution, stakeholder management, and dependency tracking skills.
Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of project outcomes and deliverables.

Nice To Haves

Experience supporting microservices-based, API-driven, or cloud-native environments is preferred.
Experience implementing project delivery improvements, reporting enhancements, and process optimization initiatives is highly desirable.
Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities while meeting aggressive timelines and business objectives.

Responsibilities

Create, maintain, and manage project plans, schedules, resource allocations, and delivery timelines.
Lead project coordination across development, QA, cloud, security, infrastructure, and operational teams.
Monitor project scope, risks, dependencies, issues, budgets, and overall delivery progress.
Communicate project status, risks, mitigation plans, and milestones to leadership and stakeholders.
Drive process improvement initiatives, reporting enhancements, and delivery optimization efforts.
Facilitate Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
Partner with Business Analysts and Product Owners to ensure backlog readiness and prioritization.
Coach and guide teams transitioning to mature Agile and Scrum practices.
Monitor work items, sprint activities, and project visibility using Azure DevOps or similar Agile management tools.
Coordinate release planning and support successful delivery sequencing across teams.
Ensure adherence to project management standards, governance policies, and established delivery processes.
Track resource utilization, dependencies, and project deliverables to ensure timely execution.
Prepare project documentation, dashboards, status reports, and executive-level communications.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen project execution and team collaboration.
