At Applied’s CTO group, we focus on enabling technologies for quantum information applications, i.e. superconducting qubits and optical quantum computing. Our primary objective is to collaborate with system companies and universities to develop quantum devices with significantly lower error rates compared to current standards. To achieve this goal, we're seeking a passionate technical project manager with relevant quantum, industry, and project management background to drive the development of new technology inflection on quantum information. Requirements

  • Demonstrates conceptual and practical expertise in own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines
  • Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements
  • Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information
  • Impacts a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams; works within broad guidelines and policies
  • Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus

Responsibilities

  • Prepares project plans and drives the project from conception and planning to implementation.
  • Participate in the development of strategies, processes and resources.
  • Manages project schedule and task details (by utilizing project management tools such as reports, tracking charts, checklist and project scheduling software).
  • Coordinates allocated resources from within the division to achieve on-time and within budget performance objectives for the project.
  • Participates in multifunctional teams comprised of internal, external and/or matrixed headcount to complete projects.
  • Provides technical input to team members to achieve project goals.
  • Interfaces and coordinates within the division to define project objectives, provide status updates and prepare for release and deployment.
  • Provides engineering and business process expertise to teams and other members on various standard programs / issues.
  • Identifies and resolves potential complications within the project and develops solutions for resolution.
  • Organize the work of the team, make a master program plan, project plan for each project.
  • Make a master schedule of milestones, and drive cross-functional teams to meet their milestones.
  • Participate in partner/ customer meetings to drive schedules.
