About The Position

The Technical Project Manager 2 plays a critical role in delivering mission-essential construction and facility modernization projects within a DOE Hazard Category 2 nuclear facility. You will manage technical construction scope from planning through field execution, testing, turnover, and closeout while coordinating closely with construction, operations, engineering, project controls, safety, security, quality, and facility support organizations. This position supports the 30B, 30R, PEI2, and MIE Non-Diamond project scopes within the ALDPI / PI-PROJ / LIP / Late Installs organization.

Requirements

Active DOE Q Clearance
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and at least 5 years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Direct experience managing construction projects, technical projects, or facility modifications within a DOE, NNSA, NRC, or comparable nuclear environment
Experience working in a DOE Hazard Category 2 or comparable high-hazard facility
Experience working under nuclear security and classification protocols
Experience supporting demolition and decontamination, construction, testing, commissioning, and turnover
Knowledge of DOE Order 413.3B project-management requirements
Experience working under Nuclear Quality Assurance-1 requirements
Experience managing project scope, cost, schedule, risk, deliverables, control accounts, or work packages
Strong coordination skills across construction, operations, engineering, safety, quality, and facility-support teams
Strong written, verbal, organizational, and stakeholder-management skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions in a highly regulated environment
Ability to work onsite and adjust working hours to support field-installation schedules
Ability to travel or drive locally when required by the project assignment

Nice To Haves

Prior Los Alamos National Laboratory or TA-55 experience
DOE or NNSA national laboratory project experience
Nuclear construction, D&D, testing, commissioning, or system-turnover experience
Experience coordinating construction activities with facility operations
Experience working with radiological control, criticality safety, nuclear safety, occupational safety, and quality assurance organizations
Work planning and work-control experience
Control Account Manager or work-package management experience
Familiarity with Earned Value Management System principles
Experience supporting project readiness, operational acceptance, and final project closeout

Responsibilities

Manage assigned technical construction scope from initiation through turnover and closeout
Define and manage project deliverables, budgets, schedules, milestones, risks, and performance objectives
Support and lead multidisciplinary project teams during planning, field execution, testing, and turnover
Organize project activities into control accounts and corresponding work packages
Manage project activities in alignment with Triad’s prime contract and DOE Order 413.3B requirements
Monitor project cost, schedule, scope, risk, and work-package performance
Identify project constraints, execution issues, and performance concerns and implement corrective actions
Coordinate activities among construction, operations, engineering, project controls, subcontractors, and support organizations
Support construction readiness reviews, work releases, system testing, commissioning, turnover, and closeout
Develop project reports, procedures, presentations, meeting records, and performance updates
Provide technical and operational guidance to project personnel and matrixed resources
Ensure compliance with DOE, NNSA, LANL, NQA-1, nuclear safety, security, classification, and quality requirements
Coordinate with radiological control, criticality safety, nuclear safety, occupational safety, work control, and quality assurance personnel
Maintain strict compliance with access authorization, classified information, and controlled-information requirements
