About The Position

This role supports the Administrator, OISC leadership, and all OISC staff by offering operational oversight, establishing program goals, evaluating policy impacts, and delivering technical guidance on sentence computations, audits, and governing laws and policies. The position is essential to maintaining accuracy, uniformity, and legal compliance across OISC operations. You will research statutes, administrative rules, legislative changes, and department policies to develop sound, defensible recommendations for the OISC Business Operations Manager, Administrator, DOC executive leaders, and other OISC managers. You will also serve as a subject-matter expert in sentence calculation policy and practice, providing direction and support to OISC staff and partners. Additionally, you will represent OISC on multi-disciplinary Department and inter-agency committees and project teams. This position is management services and may be eligible for Police & Fire (P&F) benefits through Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), as defined by statute.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, Finance, Political Science or any degree demonstrating the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and four (4) years professional-level evaluative, analytical and planning work.
  • Any combination of experience and education equivalent to seven (7) years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skills for the classification.
  • Strong knowledge of sentence computation laws, corrections policy, and administrative procedures.
  • Experience in policy analysis, development, and implementation within a complex operational environment.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to guide technical and program staff.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate on inter-agency projects and committees.

Nice To Haves

  • At least two (2) years prior experience as a Prison Term Analyst
  • Possess a Law Enforcement Database System (LEDS) Certification
  • Experience working with PTAs, OISC staff, or legal teams in a corrections environment.
