About The Position

The Technical Program Manager, Datacenter Portfolio and Strategy Management for the AMERS region operates at the portfolio level, overseeing datacenter programs from early planning through construction readiness, go-live, and turnover to operations. The role builds and maintains a trusted regional portfolio view across design engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, networking, capacity, and operations. The position turns evolving milestones, risks, and dependencies into regular, decision-ready reporting; surfaces schedule risks early; and protects critical dates that affect planned cloud and AI capacity. It develops and improves regional templates, standards, reporting, automation, and business rhythms. The role works through influence across partner teams, supports leadership decisions, and applies technical understanding of datacenter systems to improve delivery and execution.

  • At least 1 year of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects related to architecture, engineering, procurement, construction management, networking, building management/monitoring, or equivalent.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including passing the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire or transfer and every two years thereafter.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities and gaps across datacenter portfolio features, services, and infrastructure areas, using data and tools such as automation and AI to analyze usage, telemetry, and service data.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to design and implement integrated solutions and processes for cross-functional programs; coordinate end-to-end schedules, track dependencies, and adjust when projects diverge from goals or timelines.
  • Define success criteria and performance metrics, ensure telemetry and reporting are in place, and use insights to inform risk mitigation and regional delivery prioritization.
  • Develop and run portfolio business rhythms and status reporting that provide a trusted view of milestones, risks, and capacity impacts for leaders and partner teams.
  • Partner with engineering, design, operations, and other stakeholders to implement automated systems, tools, and workflows that improve reliability, reduce manual reporting, and enhance program management practices.
