About The Position

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a Technical Program Manager to join their Advanced Hardware Engineering (AHE) team. This role will focus on leading AHE Operations, including quarterly planning and budgeting, as well as driving operational improvement initiatives. Additionally, the Technical Program Manager will lead the definition, development, and rollout of AI automation tools to enhance the productivity of AHE TPMs and Engineering. The position involves cross-functional collaboration with hardware, firmware, software, vehicle engineering, procurement, and manufacturing teams to deliver AHE systems end-to-end and meet business objectives. The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex problems, managing dependencies, and scaling impact through structured ways of working, and possesses strong skills in influencing without formal authority.

Requirements

  • BS/MS degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent job experience
  • At least 6 years of experience in Technical Program Management.
  • Strong track record of leading and delivering complex cross-functional programs across hardware and/or software.
  • Processes and operations: Hands-on familiarity with end-to-end product development processes with proficiency in tools required to manage complex programs (i.e. Gantt charts, risk tracking and reporting, Smartsheet, JIRA, etc.).
  • AI: Proven understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, and AI tools such as Claude and Gemini. Proficiency in agentic coding workflows using Cursor, Claude Code, Visual Studio Code, Windsurf or other Integrated Development Environments.
  • An ability to keep the big picture in focus and to provide clear, well-structured, and concise communications tailored to each appropriate audience. Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills are a must.

Nice To Haves

  • AI: Proven experience with building AI-based solutions in the SMB/Enterprise spaces to automate workflows across JIRA, Confluence, Google Suite, Slack and other productivity tools.
  • Operations: Previous product development Operations Program Management experience spanning areas such as budgeting, organization-wide planning cycles, risk management, reporting (JIRA, dashboards) and process development.

Responsibilities

  • Lead AHE Operations: Lead AHE Quarterly Planning process, budgeting, and various other operational improvement initiatives. These initiatives may include for example developing systematic approaches to our JIRA planning and issue management frameworks.
  • Assist in TPM processes and continuous improvement frameworks that increase engineering velocity and system reliability.
  • Lead AHE AI tools and scaling: Lead the definition, development and roll out of AI automation tools that empower AHE TPMs and Engineering to significantly elevate their productivity via agentic integration across JIRA, Confluence, Slack, Google Suite, and other IT tools.
  • Drive Issue Resolution: Own AHE’s JIRA hygiene and issue-resolution targets, supporting the team in resolving critical issues and cross-team requests within agreed timelines.
  • Configuration Management: Work with cross functional teams to streamlining the firmware configuration for all our projects across the different target configurations phases.
  • Collaborate: Actively invite diverse perspectives, ensuring all voices are heard and valued in decision-making to strengthen outcomes as One Team.
  • Communicate Status: Develop and maintain standard reports and one-pagers to communicate program status, risks, issues, and achievements concisely and effectively to key stakeholders and leadership.
