Google's projects span the globe and require managers to maintain a broad perspective while addressing engineering challenges. Technical Program Managers lead complex, multidisciplinary engineering projects, plan requirements with internal customers, and guide projects through their lifecycle. They manage schedules, identify risks, communicate with stakeholders, and explain recommendations to executives while discussing technical trade-offs with engineers. As the Technical Program Management Lead for Google Search Observability and Reliability, you will lead a team of TPMs managing strategic programs across large-scale, mission-critical infrastructure. Google Search handles billions of queries daily, and this team works to keep Search infrastructure reliable, observable, and fast through rapid AI transitions. You will partner with Engineering Directors to define multi-quarter roadmaps and resolve complex distributed-systems dependencies. You will drive reliability programs involving AI serving architectures, automated error detection, telemetry frameworks, and continuous safe release pipelines. You will also mentor and grow TPMs, align engineering and product stakeholders, and use data-driven automation to scale operations. The Search team works on complex engineering challenges and infrastructure while maintaining a universally accessible and useful experience for people around the world.
