About The Position

WEX, Inc. is seeking a Technical Program Manager with experience in managing Information Security projects, resources, and timelines. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional Technology teams to provide comprehensive reporting, resource planning and assignments, risk monitoring, and project leadership. As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will partner with technology leaders to ensure the successful delivery of key initiatives, focusing on streamlining execution and coordinating across teams. The primary goal is to manage projects aimed at identifying emerging threats, instituting security controls, and ensuring rapid identification and remediation of threats and vulnerabilities. By tracking progress against defined plans, you will deliver high-impact solutions to support the Information Security mission and assist internal and external customers with contractual and regulatory Security requirements. This position is part of the Tech Innovation & Innovation Operations organization (TISO), a strategic function designed to accelerate WEX’s product innovation velocity by optimizing technology delivery. You will work closely with the Global Information Security team, which is dedicated to identifying emerging threats, testing security controls, and ensuring prompt remediation of threats and vulnerabilities across all lines of business.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in Senior Technical Program Management roles managing Security Projects that are complex, interdependent projects and enterprise-level change.
  • Demonstrated expertise managing security projects across varying platforms, applications, endpoint security, infrastructure, networks, email security, and cloud/container security.
  • Proven ability to partner with system owners and engineers across the enterprise to handle scoping, task management, and budget oversight from inception to completion.
  • Expert at navigating ambiguity, mitigating risks, and aligning cross-functional teams.
  • Comfortable moving between high-level strategy and high-accuracy, detail-oriented tasks.
  • A highly motivated, independent worker capable of operating autonomously across global time zones with minimal oversight, while remaining a collaborative partner to the broader Enterprise.
  • Proven track record with HIPAA, PCI-DSS, SOX and other regulatory frameworks.
  • Enjoy standardizing, automating and optimizing technologies and processes.
  • Deep proficiency in Agile methodologies and tools (Jira/Confluence).
  • Ensure project changes are implemented via project change control processes.
  • Strong ability to influence executive stakeholders and drive results within small, high-performing teams.
  • Document and share your findings, detail issues, make recommendations, and identify solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in FinTech or highly regulated environments with the ability to balance speed with regulatory realities is a major plus.
  • PMP or Agile certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Drive technical implementation projects for Information Security project-related activities and initiatives.
  • Partner with Product and Technology leadership to facilitate planning sessions, ensuring program increments align with business goals and adaptive requirements.
  • Develop detailed work breakdown structures (WBS), milestones, and execution plans for system consolidations and workflow enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain a Security portfolio workstream plan that includes milestones, tasks and activities.
  • Monitor project progress in partnership with Tech Leads, facilitating course corrections and surfacing risks to stakeholders for timely mitigation.
  • Track and coordinate complex dependencies across engineering teams, focusing on application routing, auth systems, and environment configurations.
  • Coordinate with security teams to ensure internal services meet governance requirements and modern architectural standards.
  • Act as the primary liaison between Architecture, Engineering, and Product teams to ensure transparency and alignment on new ways of working.
  • Maintain high standards of data hygiene within the Atlassian suite to support accurate status reporting, metrics-driven decision-making, and financial capitalization.
  • Measure project performance against committed goals, using data and adoption metrics to ensure new capabilities are successfully integrated.
  • Leverage these insights to drive continuous improvement and ensure enterprise-level changes deliver their intended value.
  • Orchestrate the end-to-end change journey through strategic, consistent communication.
  • Align stakeholders across the enterprise, at all levels, ensuring teams are informed, trained, and empowered to adopt new processes or technologies with minimal friction.
