Technical Product Owner
About The Position
NCR Voyix is seeking an experienced Technical Product Owner III to lead the development and evolution of strategic product initiatives. The role defines product vision, manages product backlogs, and partners with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, customer-focused solutions that drive business value. The ideal candidate brings product management expertise, technical acumen, stakeholder management skills, and experience in Agile environments. The role is based onsite in Atlanta. The Product Owner works with stakeholders, customers, Engineering, UX/UI, Architecture, and Business teams throughout the product development lifecycle. They advocate for customer needs, communicate product priorities and progress, track outcomes, and support junior Product Owners.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in Product Ownership, Product Management, Business Analysis, or a related role.
- Proven experience delivering software products in Agile environments, including Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and modern product management methodologies.
- Experience managing product backlogs and writing detailed user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Ability to balance business priorities, customer needs, and technical considerations.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including engaging technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Experience with product management and Agile tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Rally, or similar.
Nice To Haves
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Experience supporting retail technology, commerce, payments, SaaS, FinTech, or enterprise software platforms.
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO), SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager, or equivalent certification.
- Experience with cloud-based platforms, APIs, integrations, and data-driven product development.
- Experience leading complex, cross-functional product initiatives in a global environment.
Responsibilities
- Define and communicate product vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with business objectives and customer needs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, customers, and engineering teams to gather, refine, and prioritize product requirements.
- Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring stories are clearly defined, prioritized, and ready for development.
- Translate business requirements into detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications.
- Work with Engineering, UX/UI, Architecture, and Business teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Lead backlog grooming, sprint planning, and other Agile ceremonies.
- Analyze market trends, competitive offerings, customer feedback, and product performance metrics to inform product decisions.
- Advocate for the customer and user-centric product design and functionality.
- Track product outcomes and KPIs, identifying opportunities for enhancements and continuous improvement.
- Communicate product updates, roadmap priorities, risks, and progress to stakeholders and leadership.
- Support and mentor junior Product Owners and contribute to product management best practices.
