About The Position

We are seeking a Technical Product Owner with strong Shopify expertise and a solid technical delivery background to own the definition, execution, and release of custom storefront solutions for our clients. This role is responsible for translating client needs into clear product and technical requirements, guiding frontend development execution, managing releases, validating outcomes, and supporting successful launches. You will work closely with clients, designers, and developers to ensure solutions meet business goals, technical standards, and release quality expectations.

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of experience in a product management, solutions, or technical delivery role.
• Strong experience working with Shopify or Shopify Plus storefronts.
• Background in engineering or development is considered an asset.
• Proven ability to capture client requirements and translate them into clear tickets and acceptance criteria.
• Experience working closely with frontend developers and designers to deliver production ready features.
• Strong understanding of e-commerce concepts and storefront best practices.
• Experience working with Git-based workflows (e.g., GitHub), including familiarity with branches, pull requests, code reviews, and release flows.
• Prior experience in a technical program management (TPM), technical product, or delivery-focused role.
• Comfort collaborating on release management for frontend applications, including coordinating deployments and post-release validation.
• Comfortable validating development work through QA and supporting launches.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including client facing work.
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast paced agency environment.
• Based in the Vancouver area with the ability to work hybrid from downtown Vancouver.

Nice To Haves

• Experience managing or contributing to Shopify theme repositories is a strong asset.
• Experience with integrations such as ERP, POS, WMS, or other backend systems is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Own the end to end product lifecycle for client specific Shopify storefront solutions.
• Capture and refine client requirements into clear user stories, tickets, and acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate with design and frontend development teams to define scope and solution approach.
• Prioritize requirements and manage tradeoffs to balance timelines, complexity, and business impact.
• Write and maintain development tickets and supporting documentation.
• Review and test completed development to ensure it meets defined requirements and quality standards.
• Coordinate and support launches, including validation and post launch follow up.
• Act as the primary point of contact for product related discussions with clients.
• Translate technical concepts into clear, non technical language for stakeholders.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and gaps early and work with the team to resolve them.
• Contribute to documentation, standard operating procedures, and internal best practices.
• Own the end to end product and delivery lifecycle, including planning, development coordination, release management, and post launch validation.
• Manage release planning and coordination, including timing, dependencies, risk assessment, and go live readiness.
• Review frontend code changes related to Shopify themes, including pull requests affecting theme files, and support merge decisions in collaboration with developers.
• Manage and maintain Shopify theme repositories, including versioning and release workflows.
• Partner closely with frontend developers to ensure code changes align with requirements, quality standards, and release plans.
• Identify technical risks related to releases, dependencies, or scope changes and proactively mitigate them.
