About The Position

The Technical Product Owner (TPO) – Plan Data Assets is accountable for the technology delivery, deployment, and operational support of Bronze, Silver and Gold data assets for the Plan function. The role leads a dedicated technical squad and partners closely with the Data Product Owner, Information Architect, Solution Architect, and engineering leadership to ensure Plan data assets are fit‑for‑purpose, compliant, scalable, and delivered through modern CI/CD practices. The TPO balances feature delivery with platform standards and technical debt management, ensuring Plan data assets meet defined quality, governance, and performance expectations while enabling reliable downstream analytics, AI, and business decision‑making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computing or similar discipline
  • Overall Experience 5+ years experience working with data platforms, analytics, or data engineering in an enterprise environment.
  • 3+ years in a technical leadership or senior contributor role, with accountability for delivery outcomes, technical quality, and design decisions.
  • Experience operating within regulated or controlled data environments with formal SDLC, data governance, and release controls.
  • Data & Platform Expertise (5+ years): Hands‑on experience designing, building, or owning data pipelines and analytical data assets (e.g., Silver / Gold layers).
  • Technical Leadership & Delivery (3+ years): Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating a technical squad or delivery team
  • CI/CD, SDLC & Operational Excellence (3+ years): Practical experience working with CI/CD pipelines for data or software delivery
  • AI, GenAI & Advanced Analytics Enablement (1+ year): 1+ year hands‑on exposure to AI and GenAI concepts applied to analytics or data platforms
  • Working knowledge of: Large Language Models (LLMs)
  • Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG)
  • AI‑assisted analytics, insight generation, or semantic search

  • Domain & Business Knowledge (3+ years preferred): Experience working with Plan / Supply Chain / Operations data, including upstream planning or execution systems (e.g., ERP, OMP, or equivalent)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the squad responsible for Plan, Silver and Gold data assets, including backlog refinement, sequencing, and technical prioritization.
  • Own the technical roadmap for Plan data assets in alignment with Data Product Owner and the Information Architect aligned to the functional objectives and IMSC data platform standards.
  • Be accountable for squad OKRs, driving delivery against quality, reliability, and timeliness targets.
  • Translate business and product requirements into clear technical user stories with defined acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure consistent application of standards for creation, enhancement, and remediation of Plan Silver and Gold assets.
  • Enforce code quality, metadata, mapping, lineage, and remediation standards across all deliveries.
  • Partner with Information and Solution Architects to ensure compliance with information architecture, security, and data governance policies.
  • Act as a technical gatekeeper, approving Plan data assets prior to release into production.
  • Lead release planning for Plan data assets with a strong focus on CI/CD and SDLC best practices, including automation, testing, versioning, and controlled releases.
  • Ensure consistent application of code quality, testing, and deployment standards across data pipelines.
  • Drive progressive automation of testing, promotion, and release processes to improve predictability and reliability.
  • Balance technical debt reduction with ongoing feature delivery in partnership with Solution Architects and Lead Engineers.
  • Review and challenge technical designs, implementation approaches, and coding standards to ensure long‑term scalability and maintainability.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to upstream Plan systems, schema changes, and metric integrity.
  • Apply AI and GenAI literacy to identify opportunities where Plan data assets can support AI‑enabled analytics, semantic search, and insight generation while maintaining governance and traceability.
  • Provide guidance on effective and responsible prompt engineering to improve productivity across analysis, documentation, and quality checks.
  • Ensure AI‑enabled use cases involving Plan data align with enterprise AI governance, risk, and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with Information Architects on ontology‑driven and semantic modelling approaches to harmonize Plan data across domains and systems.
  • Support the technology build and use of semantic layers to improve data reuse, cross‑domain integration, analytics, and AI consumption.
  • Operate effectively within Agile delivery models, collaborating across product, architecture, and engineering teams.
  • Act as a trusted bridge between business objectives and technical implementation.
  • Maintain accountability for delivery outcomes within a squad‑based model.
