About The Position

Certara accelerates the potential of bringing medicines to market and to patients using biosimulation software, technology, and services to transform traditional drug discovery and development. Our clients include more than 2,400 biopharmaceutical companies, academic institutions, and regulatory agencies across 70 countries. Our goal is to enable the life sciences industry’s use of data, modeling, and analytics to make better decisions across the various phases of discovery and drug development. Our software and scientists incorporate modern advances in scientific understanding, drug development experience, data analysis, and AI resulting in significant opportunities to decrease the cost and increase the probability of success for new drug approval and commercialization. The Technical Product Manager (TPM) is responsible for defining and driving the vision, roadmap, and execution of Pulse, a set of shared integration services that enable secure, event-based communication and data exchange across Certara applications. Pulse is not an end-user product; it is a foundational technical capability that underpins cross-product workflows, file exchange, and system-to-system integration. This role requires strong technical fluency, systems-level thinking, and the ability to operate effectively in ambiguity while aligning engineering, architecture, security, and product stakeholders around a scalable and well-governed platform. A critical focus of this role is ensuring that Pulse enables secure, compliant, and wellgoverned file and data sharing across applications in alignment with Certara’s security and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in senior engineering, architecture, or technical leadership roles
  • Experience owning shared services or integration platforms
  • Strong technical fluency across APIs and event-driven systems
  • Experience defining security and access control requirements
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with integration services, messaging systems, or data pipelines
  • Knowledge of enterprise identity models such as RBAC, ABAC, ReBAC, and AWS IAM
  • Experience in regulated or compliance-aware life sciences environments

Responsibilities

  • Own the product vision, scope, and roadmap for Pulse as a shared integration platform
  • Clearly define what Pulse is and is not, preventing ad hoc or point-to-point integrations
  • Balance near-term delivery with long-term scalability and platform health
  • Translate cross-application integration and data-sharing needs into clear requirements
  • Partner with engineering to define APIs, event contracts, and data exchange patterns
  • Own and prioritize the Pulse backlog based on enterprise-wide value
  • Define security, access control, and data governance requirements
  • Ensure support for identity-based authentication and authorization models
  • Translate compliance expectations into actionable product requirements
  • Serve as the primary product interface across engineering, architecture, and security teams
  • Drive alignment across teams with differing priorities and constraints
  • Help define governance models for shared integration services
  • Identify opportunities to expand Pulse adoption
  • Ensure long-term resilience, maintainability, and extensibility
