About The Position

This role involves owning a portfolio of data and AI products, translating complex business problems into product strategies, and managing them from conception through launch and iteration. The Technical Product Manager will act as a liaison between clients, engineering, and data science teams. This is a hands-on position requiring direct engagement with clients and technical teams, focusing on accountability for product outcomes.

Requirements

  • 3-6 years of product management experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience shipping data, analytics, platform, or AI-powered products.
  • Proven track record of taking products from problem statement to production.
  • Strong technical fluency, including the ability to participate in architecture discussions, understand data models, reason about APIs and integrations, and comprehend pipeline implications.
  • Comfort working with enterprise stakeholders, including the ability to constructively push back on inappropriate requests.
  • Analytical rigor, using data to inform decisions and acknowledging data limitations.
  • Experience with Agile delivery methodologies and modern product tooling (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Figma).
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in retail, commerce media, or retail media networks.
  • Familiarity with LLM-based products (RAG, prompt orchestration, tool calling, evaluation frameworks, guardrails).
  • Working knowledge of cloud data platforms like Databricks, Snowflake, or BigQuery.
  • SQL skills sufficient for self-service data analysis.
  • Prior experience in a startup or client-facing product environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own the roadmap for one or more data and AI product lines, setting priorities, defending trade-offs, and being accountable for results.
  • Conduct discovery directly with enterprise clients and internal stakeholders to identify high-value problems.
  • Write clear product requirements, including user stories, acceptance criteria, data contracts, edge cases, and definitions of 'done'.
  • Collaborate daily with engineering, data engineering, and design teams to sequence delivery, facilitate decisions, and manage scope.
  • Define and instrument success metrics such as adoption, data quality, time-to-insight, model reliability, and cost per outcome.
  • Lead sprint ceremonies with engineering leads to ensure predictable delivery without over-bureaucratizing the team.
  • Translate client feedback, usage data, and support signals into a prioritized backlog of improvements.
  • Manage end-to-end product launches, including rollout plans, enablement materials, internal training, and post-launch reviews.
  • Communicate roadmap status, risks, and trade-offs to senior stakeholders on both client and ShyftLabs sides.
  • Contribute to the evolution of ShyftLabs' product development practices, including discovery, prioritization, and delivery rituals.
