Critical to achieving that goal are the technical platforms that power our customer growth. We are looking for a Technical Product Manager II to manage and evolve our messaging capabilities across our iOS and Android apps, partnering with cross-functional stakeholders and engineering leadership to develop thoughtful capabilities for our engagement and subscription funnels that solve user needs across NYT brands (News, The Athletic, Cooking, Games and Wirecutter). This is a hybrid role based in our New York headquarters.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on backend platforms for iOS and android apps.
  • Experience launching and iterating on large-scale features and services across the full product development cycle.
  • Experience using a variety of data to inform product decisions and identify areas for improvement in system performance and user experience.
  • Experience with Agile product development methodologies and best practices.

  • Experience solving challenging technical problems and leading transformational projects.
  • Experience analyzing complex systems and identify areas for improvement.
  • Experience with subscription business models and technologies used in the media industry.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the product roadmap for our iOS and Android messaging platform, ensuring alignment with The New York Times's enterprise goals.
  • Collaborate with engineering, data and other stakeholder teams to identify new platform opportunities and form product requirements that solve internal and external user needs.
  • Prioritize against a range of work, balancing business needs, technical needs, and user experience.
  • Analyze user data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and measure the impact of product changes on subscription growth.
  • Demonstrate support and understanding of our value of journalistic independence and a strong commitment to our mission to seek the truth and help people understand the world.
  • You will report to the Product Director, Access and Messaging Systems.
