Technical Product Management Lead

PsiQuantumPalo Alto, CA

About The Position

The Technical Product Management Lead will serve as the technical face of the product to customers, partners, and the broader industry. This role will lead detailed specification negotiations and technical engagements with customer architecture teams, translating customer constraints and needs into clear, actionable product requirements. The Lead will partner closely with engineering on product priorities, trade-offs, testing, and documentation while owning specifications at the customer boundary. This individual will also develop technical content—including white papers, application notes, reference architectures, and conference materials—and represent the company at industry conferences and standards organizations.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in datacenter networking with real depth in switch and fabric architecture; product management or product-owner experience.
  • Has been the vendor architect in a room of skeptical buyers and won on merit.
  • Practical grasp of the optical layer as a networking engineer uses it: link budgets, transceiver compatibility, reach and loss margin.
  • Excellent written communication — a large share of the role is documents that survive scrutiny without you present.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical engagement with customer architecture teams — design and architecture reviews.
  • Lead detailed specification negotiation with lead customers, from first draft through agreed sign-off.
  • Own spec definition at the customer boundary: how performance is measured, what a test proves.
  • Provide product management support to engineering — requirements, priorities and trade documentation.
  • Author white papers, application notes, reference architectures and conference material.
  • Feed customer-side constraints back into product definition as first-class requirements.
  • Represent the company technically at conferences and in standards work.
