About The Position

The Technical Producer leads the AV and production service delivery for an inspiring array of live in-person, virtual, corporate meetings and events at Sun Life. A creative solutions expert, the producer guides and influences business partners on the design, strategy and service selection for events that utilize various virtual platforms, internal conference centers, as well as external venues around the world. The Technical Producer leads high-profile, large-budget events for our most senior executives. This role requires a robust understanding and experience with in-person, virtual, and hybrid corporate event production management. The technical planning perspective is critical to this role. The Technical Producer designs and delivers customized AV and production solutions that support a wide range of business objectives, events, and communication needs. This role partners closely with stakeholders to assess requirements, recommend fit-for-purpose technical approaches, and execute solutions across in-person, virtual, and hybrid environments.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of advanced technical expertise in a corporate event environment, production managing and/or producing exceptional experiences for online and in-person corporate audiences.
  • Advanced production management experience and can effectively document and prepare production materials (Production schedules / Run of Show / Meeting agendas / Signal flows).
  • Experienced leading partners through production meetings, maintaining supplier relationships and building strong business relationships with stakeholders, vendors and team members.
  • Ability to put partners, executives and colleagues at ease in high-pressure situations.
  • Well-accomplished event technician with highly honed skills and an inspiring track record of troubleshooting under pressure.
  • Knowledgeable with a wide range of media, platforms and venues.
  • Deep knowledge of industry-related equipment, systems and terminology, and advanced technological abilities.
  • Expert knowledge of AV and Broadcast systems (ATEM Black Magic Switchers / VMIX / Newtek Tricasters / Zoom Webinars) and virtual event platforms.
  • Experience in digital asset management, with strong file management skills and the ability to effectively track, maintain, and organize pre-production assets and workbooks.
  • Experience with content production and multi-camera video content production project workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and supporting business partners to deliver innovative production solutions that drive business results through engaging presentations and experiences in conference centers.
  • Leading the hands-on planning and execution of events, including virtual events, on-site corporate business conferences and video content productions.
  • Show direction and show calling on various corporate event projects.
  • On-location AV supervisor responsible for AV production logistics, budget management, A/V vendor relationship management and technical service delivery according to Sun Life brand guidelines.
  • Providing technical services to support other department events in office and/or virtually as required.
  • Production management through department systems, invoicing, expense and time tracking, and reporting on business savings.
  • Obtaining approvals and forecasting costs for events.
  • Ensuring production financial administration including processing payment requests, purchase orders, and reconciliation and reporting for all event related costs is properly completed.
  • Lead technical operator working with advanced virtual event platforms, broadcast and video switching equipment (VMIX /ATEM hardware/Tricaster), audio mixing, streaming workflows and video over IP networking (NDI) systems.
  • Design and installation of broadcasting infrastructure integrations projects.
  • Providing guidance on signal flow design, quality assurance testing and system maintenance support.
  • Technical lead for video content production projects including DSLR/ mirrorless camera set up, basic 3-point lighting set up, live-to-tape signal follow set up and postproduction video editing.
